About the recent Android auto wireless adapter cannot connect
Share
Due to the official upgrade of Android Auto, some Android Auto wireless adapter users are unable to connect.
You only need to upgrade the adapter's firmware to continue enjoying a stable and smooth wireless experience!
Pre-Configuration:
1. Unplug the adapter from the USB port.
2. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone. (❗Important)
3. Plug the adapter into a regular USB port to keep it powered.
Start Configuration:
1. Connect your phone to the Wi-Fi network “smartBox-XXXX” using the
password: 88888888.
Tip: If you see a prompt like the one shown in the image below after
connecting to smartBox-XXXX, please select Stay on Wi-Fi

2. Open your phone’s browser and enter the IP address: 192.168.1.101, then go
to the settings page.
3. Press the “Switch P2P” button at the bottom ofthe screen to find the update.
Important:
❗ Do not press “Update” immediately. ❗
4. Go to the main Settings page, type “Wi-Fi Direct/Direct” in the search bar
at the top to quickly find the Wi-Fi Direct feature, and then connect to
smartBox-XXXX.
5. Return to your browser and click the “Update” button.
💡Tip: During the update process, please be patient and avoid closing this
page.
Post-Configuration:
1. Forget the Adapter: Go to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings. Forget the
smartBox signal in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Note: This step is crucial —make sure you forget the smartBox-XXXX Wi
Fi connection record on your phone.
2. Unplug the adapter: Disconnect it from the port.
3. Restart both devices: Restart your phone and car.
4. Reconnect both devices.
Plug the adapter back into the car’s USB data port (please ensure it’s
a data port, not just a charging port or USB Hub—the same port
you use for wired Android Auto connection).
*Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone. (❗ Important)
*Select smartBox-XXXX for pairing in the Bluetooth settings of your
phone.
💡Tip: Just manually pair Bluetooth, no need to manually pair
WiFi. ❗
After a successful Bluetooth pairing, the connection will automatically
disconnect, which is normal.
Please don’t worry—just wait patiently for about 10-15 seconds
without touching the phone screen, and avoid repeatedly reconnecting
the Bluetooth.
Wait for your phone to automatically disconnect from the Bluetooth
connection with smartBox-XXXX and automatically switch to the
smartBox-XXXX Wi-Fi connection to successfully activate wireless
Android Auto.
💡Tip: If you see a prompt like the one shown in the image below after
connecting to smartBox-XXXX, please select Switch to mobile.
